Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about process serving in Colorado.

How quickly can you serve papers in Colorado?

We offer same-day service across the Denver metro area and Front Range. For rural counties, we typically complete service within 1-3 business days. Rush service is available statewide with priority dispatch.

What are Colorado's rules for process serving?

Colorado follows C.R.C.P. Rule 4 for service of process. Documents can be served by any person over 18 who is not a party to the action. Service must be made personally, by leaving copies at the dwelling, or by other court-approved methods. We ensure full compliance with all applicable rules.

Do I need a licensed process server in Colorado?

Colorado does not require process servers to be licensed by the state. However, our servers are professionally trained, bonded, and insured. We carry errors and omissions insurance and provide GPS-verified proof of service for every attempt.

What happens if the person avoids service?

If personal service cannot be achieved after diligent attempts, Colorado law allows alternative methods including substituted service (leaving documents with a responsible person at the dwelling), posting, or service by publication. We document every attempt and can assist with motions for alternative service.

How much does process serving cost in Colorado?

Standard service starts at $75 for Denver metro addresses. Rates vary by location, urgency, and document type. Visit our rates page for detailed pricing. We offer flat-rate pricing with no hidden fees.

What areas do you cover?

We serve all 64 counties in Colorado. Our network of process servers covers the entire state, from the Front Range to the Western Slope, the San Luis Valley to the Eastern Plains. No location in Colorado is outside our service area.

How do I submit documents for service?

You can submit documents through our online contact form, email them to us, or deliver them in person to our Denver office at 1600 Broadway, Suite 400. For urgent matters, call (303) 481-7263 and we can arrange immediate pickup.

What proof of service do you provide?

We provide a notarized affidavit of service that includes the date, time, location, and method of service, along with a description of the person served. All service attempts include GPS coordinates and timestamps. The affidavit is court-ready and can be filed directly.

Can you serve papers on weekends or holidays?

Yes. Colorado law does not prohibit service on weekends or holidays. We offer 7-day service and can attempt service at times most likely to find the recipient at home, including evenings and weekends.

What types of documents can you serve?

We serve all civil process documents including summons and complaints, subpoenas, eviction notices, divorce papers, restraining orders, small claims notices, writs, garnishments, and any other documents requiring formal service under Colorado law.
